MD's Message

Thankful for the past, positive for the present and looking forward to the future...

I can't remember who said "the only constant is change" but when thinking back over the short number of years since joining Zycomm and the radio industry it is a statement which seems to fit perfectly.

There has been no bigger change than me taking over from Ian Sneap, Chairman and Owner of Zycomm in November 2010.

So now I write my first MD's message at the start of another new year.

What was 2010 like for you? For me commenting on sales would describe it as hard work and challenging. The first half of last year, what with the constant drama going on in the Government; budgets, elections, coalitions and cuts, cuts, cuts was extremely tough. It felt any money people had in their budgets they were keeping hold of it - even if at times they didn't need to. Fortunately the second half of the year saw people relax, take stock of the situation and start spending again. Even with the white stuff making it interesting in November and December we ended the year on a positive note, with us looking forward to 2011.

So just these few days into the new year what is it like already? For me, hard work, challenging but exciting. We have got so many plans and ideas to roll out at Zycomm plus the radio industry is evolving at the rate of knots I would advise watch this space - 2011 we're ready.
