On Target with Face Recognition
Zycomm Target is a fully automated face recognition solution that can be integrated into any pre-existing CCTV monitoring network or system. Digitising the information from live video feeds, it is able to electronically compare the faces of passing people to a database of known targets in real time.
The target library database consists of numbers of .jpeg photographic images of known suspects.
Important information and historic details can be stored along with these images for immediate recall should the person be detected.
The database of reference images can be easily compiled from police conviction bulletins and quickly scanned into the system should .jpg images not be available.
It would be entirely possible to configure a secure server containing a common image library from all subscribing corporate stores/malls/police divisions that could be shared nationally, should it be required.
Positive face detection would cause the system to alert the CCTV Control Room / Security Point and display a ’grabbed’ real time, single-frame detection image, archive library picture of the target and additionally display the image details - time stamp, detection location, previous known detection history, etc.
Below is an outline example of how this system could benefit a large retail security operation with regard to improving site security and loss prevention:
Once Zycomm Target is installed within a large retail environment several key CCTV monitoring areas are selected, for example escalator exits, doorways etc. These provide the best areas for FR monitoring as faces are presented to the camera quite naturally ’head-on’.
When a positive detection is made, the suspect’s image along with library image and associated bio details are displayed on a dedicated monitor with an audible annunciation at the security office.
Automatically an alerting short text message is sent discreetly using the Zycomm Trunked Radio network to required radio user groups, verifying that a suspect has been detected on site.
The suspects logged name or ID, time of detection and detected location would form the body of the radio text message.
A further enhancement provides mobile phone MMS support, whereby an alerting text message and photographic image could be sent to any system-registered mobile phone.
These would be quality MMS images of both the relevant ’detection frame’ and ’library photograph’ of the target, transferred within seconds of detection to the mobile-phone.
Again the body of the phone text message would contain vital subject information and detection details.
Being able to receive instant discreet ’free’ text alerts via two way radio and to further utilise MMS to a mobile phone giving the option to review the suspects ’actual detection’ image with any unique clothing, headwear or glasses etc. makes this automatic system very valuable indeed in the continuous identification and on-site monitoring of frequent offenders.
Zycomm Target alerts can be configured in almost any way imaginable, using any or all of the available technologies - Trunked Radio - SMS - MMS - WiFi or Networked Image Retrieval to name but a few.
