A case study of Zycomm's work with Everton Football Club providing an efficient security and safety solution.
Everton F.Cis a football club in Liverpool that currently compete in the Premier League, the top flight of English football. The club have competed in the top division for a record 114 seasons and won the League Championship nine times and the FA Cup five times.
Everton play at Goodison Park, the first major football stadium to be built in England.
Goodison was opened in 1892 and has staged more top-flight football games than any other ground in the United Kingdom and was the only English club ground to host a semi-final at the 1966 FIFA World Cup. The ground has a capacity of 39,572 and like all large stadia requires an efficient communications system to ensure the safety of visitors and staff.
Everton approached Zycomm in 1998 to provide an efficient Two-Way Radio Solution for their stadium which has grown into a partnership that has lasted nearly 20 years. In 2014 Everton asked Zycomm to upgrade Goodison Park to a Digital Radio System.
- To provide 80+ Digital Radios for use by security and safety staff
- Provide a repeater system so communication between radios is clear and efficient
After discussion with the club Zycomm recommended and then supplied 80 Hytera PD 705 LT Digital Radios for use by Everton staff and a Hytera RD625 Repeater System. As well as 3 x MD785 fixed mobile desk units, Zycomm also provide a full maintenance and service package for all products supplied.
Alan Bowen, Head of Operations for Everton had this to say:
‘Everton Football Club have used Zycomm as a supplier for their Two Way Radio requirements for over 15 years and in 2014 it was decided that the time was right to upgrade the existing analogue equipment to a DMR digital system.
The obvious choice for us was to use Zycomm to fulfil this requirement as they have always given us sound technical advice and excellent service. I would therefore have no hesitation in recommending them as a supplier.’
