Here are 3 reasons how communication can help your team and improve safety, and efficiency.

On June 26th – 28th, the annual Hillhead Show takes place at Hillhead Quarry in Buxton, Derbyshire, right on the doorstep of Zycomm – other than the beautiful scenery the area has to offer, we are looking forward to meeting quarry companies and supply chains to explain the great benefits we have to offer with Two Way Radio communication.

We will be at stand PB37, our professional and friendly team will be on hand throughout the show dates to make sure that everyone from all of the various construction and quarry industries has access to insights from how our radio and communication solutions can be hugely beneficial to your industry, whether you are looking to improve safety around site, enhance efficient communication instead of relying on mobile signal, or simply allow your teams to work as productively as possible – we have the solution for you!

At Zycomm we have a range of dedicated blogs, and articles geared towards the industries that will be in attendance at Hillhead: here we look at how Two Way Radio features can benefit Quarry companies and their workers:

ATEX Certified

Due to the process of quarrying and mining presenting harsh and dangerous surroundings to work in, it is hugely important that the equipment workers use can withstand many extremes including dust, noise, moisture, temperature and also possible toxic gases.

At Zycomm we have many Two Way Radios both leading brands of Hytera and Kenwood models that are ATEX certified. This allows the radios to be able to work safely in such extreme conditions that may include the presence of hydrogen and dust particles. The ruggedness and reliability of these tested radios allow workers to be confident that they will always be able to communicate with one another on site.

Enhanced Safety

Many of our Two Way Radios that are dedicated to industries such as Quarrying come with additional features that enhance the safety of the worker using the radio. Such as, an emergency button on the exterior of the device, and in case of any accident the button will trigger the alarm and initiate a voice call to a pre-programmed work fellow or group.

Not only do our Two Way Radios come with the Emergency Button feature but they also have others, such as, Built-in man down, GPS and lone worker functions which are also available, again enhancing every individual workers safety and protection whilst on site.

Crystal Clear Audio

On Quarry sites there tends to be a lot of noise occurring throughout the day due to heavy machinery for example. This background noise can have an effect on communication between workers making it hard for on another to hear what is being said. This is where our Two Way Radios can save the day, due to their brilliant technology our handsets are able to eradicate the loud background noise and focus solely on the workers voice when being speaking into the radio to another colleague this is done through the device focussing on certain frequencies.

It is also worth pointing out that digital Two Way Radios also have greater reception than their former analogue devices and mobile signals, providing great range over sites that may be quite large. Two Way Radios allow workers to not only have brilliantly clear audio but also consistent communication!
